Motorcyclist injured in crash on Airport Boulevard in Mobile

Editor’s Note: News 5 has edited this article to clarify the witness’ location during the crash.

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A motorcyclist was injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon involving a motorcycle and a car hauler.

The crash occurred at the entrance to the Shoppes at Bel Air at the intersection of Airport Boulevard and E Interstate 65 Service Road S.

Although the car hauler driver said he never hit the motorcycle, a WKRG News 5 crew on the scene saw the motorcyclist be taken into an ambulance with a leg injury and neck injury.

Mobile Police and Fire-Rescue crews were on the scene after the crash.

News 5’s Rose Ann Haven spoke with a witness who was just outside of Starbucks at the time of the crash and called 911.

She said she didn’t see the vehicles collide, but she heard the crash and was able to call for emergency medical services.

She also said the man on the motorcycle said he was overpowered when both the car hauler and motorcycle attempted to turn onto the same road.
