Child accused of threatening violence at school: Mobile Police

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Mobile Police Department and officials with Strickland Youth Center are working on a case after a child allegedly made a social media comment threatening violence at a school.

According to a department news release, officers received a tip about a school threat made on social media on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at around 10 a.m.

Officers said they found that a boy had made a comment on social media threatening violence at a school but had not mentioned a specific school.

Police identified and located the child, News 5 has learned.

MPD said the case is being referred to the Strickland Youth Center.
