MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Community members gathered at Stewart Memorial CME Church in Mobile to pray ahead of Tuesday’s general election.
Analyst: Alabama Congressional District 2 race will come down to turnout
Pastor Marvin Lue of the church said this election has been a highly contentious one, so he hopes holding a prayer service will help ease election anxiety.
He hopes whoever is elected will get the support they need over the next four years he or she is in the Oval Office.
“After the results are tallied, after the votes have been cast and after the winner has been declared, we want to be able to move forward as a people,” Lue said. “We want to be able to move forward as a country and a spirit of peace and a spirit of restoration.”
Other people like Charles Dent were a part of the service, and he wanted to come to show his support and remind others that their vote matters even when someone believes that it doesn’t.
