MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG ) — The City of Mobile will have a second ‘traffic warrant clinic’ where people can handle outstanding traffic-related warrants without the risk of arrest.
The clinic will be held Nov. 15 at the Spring Hill Recreation Center on Springhill Avenue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“[People with warrants] run the risk of getting pulled over for some other traffic violation, and officers seeing that they have outstanding warrants. The warrants would have to be executed, and they’d have to go to jail,” Debbie McGowin, director of Mobile Municipal Courts, said. “We want to help prevent that from happening and assist them in any way we can by having this warrant clinic.”
McGowin said the clinic is set up like a “family-friendly” event with bounce houses, food trucks, and activities for kids. Rather than standing before a robed judge in the courtroom, those who go to the clinic can meet the judge and other key courtroom players in casual attire.
