Lubertha Welch has been waiting for an arrest for the murder of her son.

“Been a little rough, but I’m just trying to take one day at a time,” she said.

Arso was killed after a stray bullet struck him while he was on his way to work on the morning of Nov. 12, 2023.

The bullet came from a shootout at the Brother’s Quick Mart on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Prichard.

Even though the video has been out for a year, Welch is disappointed that there have been no arrests in the case.

And to encourage someone to speak up, she’s upped the reward from $5,000 to $6,000.

“I’m not going to rest until I find out because Prichard not doing anything,” Welch said.

Long family friend Marie Edwards said she’s been there for Welch ever since Arso’s death, and believes the main problem is no one is coming forward to help.
