The USDOJ release said United States District Court Judge Callie V. S. Grande sentenced Christopher Perales to 172 months in prison for his role.
According to court documents, Perales operated from Texas and regularly supplied pound quantities of methamphetamine to David Eric Crumpton of Mobile beginning around 2019.
The release said Perales and Crumpton opened a joint checking account at a Texas bank, so Crumpton could pay Perales for the methamphetamine.
Crumpton made deposits of $125,000 into the joint account for the methamphetamine he bought from Perales from July 27, 2020, through Dec. 7, 2020.

The USDOJ release said Perales hired the co-defendant, Daniel Castillo-Garcia, who served as a drug courier and transported the methamphetamine from Texas to Lafayette, Louisiana. There, co-defendant David Willis Hale, who was hired by Crumpton and Heather Boone, would transport the methamphetamine back to Mobile for them.
