MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — As the country continues to face nursing shortages , the University of South Alabama was recognized for its online neonatal nurse practitioner program.

The University of South Alabama was ranked No. 3 for the best online neonatal nurse programs by Nurse Practitioner Online.
“The University of South Alabama offers a highly competitive Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program through its College of Nursing, known for its innovative and evidence-based approach to healthcare,” the ranking website said. “With a strong focus on interprofessional collaboration and leadership development, graduates of this program are prepared to provide comprehensive, family-centered care to critically ill newborns and their families.”
The rankings, which are aimed at helping aspiring nurses find a program that is right for them during a time when distance learning is becoming more popular, were decided by using methodology including academic reputation, faculty quality and program offerings.
