MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Mobile natives Alexis Scott-Windham and Jalen Lilly were looking to ring in the new year with their friends by going to New Orleans and celebrating on Bourbon Street.
After an attacker ran over people killing at least 14 and injuring dozens more, both of them are just glad to be able to tell the tale.

What was supposed to be a fun night to ring in the new year quickly turned into a life-or-death situation.
“I’m trying to get out because I kept hearing the gunshots, too,” Alexis Scott-Windham said.
Scott-Windham was shot in the foot during the terror attack. She said she was trying to get out of the way when she saw the truck rush through the crowd.
She, at first, thought it was a drunk driver.
