Kansas State lands highly regarded corner Amarion Fortenberry

Kansas State is back on the board with another transfer portal addition. South Alabama corner Amarion Fortenberry has committed to K-State, the signing was confirmed by On3’s Pete Nakos.

The commitment from Fortenberry comes on the heels of an official visit to Kansas State. His visit took place January 2nd, just after the dead period was lifted allowing transfers to visit schools. Before visiting K-State, the true freshman corner visited Houston before the dead period began. It is unknown at this time what other schools were involved with the corner.

Corner has been a position of need for the Wildcats this portal cycle. Kansas State loses starting cornerbacks Jacob Parrish and Keenan Garber off of the 2024 roster. Parrish announced in December he was declaring for the NFL Draft and forgoing his senior season while Garber is out of eligibility.

While losing the two starting cornerbacks, K-State cornerback coach Van Malone has had to be active in the transfer portal. The Wildcats have already landed Oklahoma corner Jayden Rowe and with the addition of Fortenberry are likely done at the position. After all, Justice James will be returning next season and Zashon Rich as well as Donovan McIntosh have high ceilings for Kansas State.
