Theodore Church of God opens doors for cold weather shelter Monday

THEODORE, Ala ( WKRG ) – The Theodore Church of God will open its doors as a cold weather shelter starting Monday, according to the church’s Facebook post .

The Theodore Church of God, located at 6360 Theodore Dawes Road, is allowing people to stay overnight or during the day starting at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 6.

The church told WKRG that the shelter will remain open through Thursday, possibly Friday, depending on the severity of the cold weather.

They are accepting food and drink donations starting at 8 a.m. Monday.

Other items requested for donations include household supplies, gloves, socks, blankets, pillows, jackets and certain medicines.

Clothing items are not being requested for donation.
