MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A Mobile man is now in jail in connection with a robbery and assault incident at a local store .

According to a Mobile Police Department spokesperson, 34-year-old Anstice Dewitte White was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 7, and taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.
Mobile police said White’s arrest was in connection with a robbery report that occurred on Saturday, Jan. 4, around 7:35 p.m. at Shoe Station, which is located at 741 Hillcrest Road.
LOCATION:
When officers arrived, they learned a male subject had physically assaulted an employee and stole her phone as he attempted to leave the store.

Police said he had unpaid merchandise in his hands, but he dropped it during the incident and only left with the employee’s phone.
White is accused of third-degree robbery.
