Jags’ win streak comes to an end

South Alabama entered Saturday’s Sun Belt Conference home game against Old Dominion (ODU) with plenty of momentum, not to mention sole possession of the top spot in the league standings. The Jaguars left the Mitchell Center floor with their win streak erased and sharing first place with the team that had just handed them a loss, ODU.

A strong start to the game didn’t carry over into the second half for the Jaguars, and certainly not in the extra period required to determine a winner, as ODU took a 71-63 overtime victory. South Alabama failed to score in the extras period while the Monarchs tacked on eight points…
