MOUNT VERNON, Ala. (WTVM) – A decorated war hero and south Alabama native has died at the age of 99. He served on one of the only Black combat units during World War II, was a member of the Buffalo Soldiers, and called “a man among men.”
“When Mr. Andry went through there and they killed all the Germans except two, they interrogated them,” Eddie Irby Junior said.
