Ankle monitoring company threatens legal action against Mobile County Sheriff’s Office

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is proceeding with taking over ankle monitoring services for defendants who are out on bond and ordered by a judge to wear one. There may be a legal challenge filed soon in federal court in an attempt to stop the move. Owners of a private monitoring company currently operating in Mobile County believe it is unconstitutional for law enforcement to monitor defendants.
