MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A federal judge today sentenced a Theodore man to time served for his role in a conspiracy involving stolen business checks.
Brian Williams III has been in jail since June 2023, when police arrested him on state charges.
He pleaded guilty to federal charges in October 2023, admitting that he bought the stolen checks from a postal worker, Kalaijha Tomeco Rainier Lewis, who stole the business checks over a roughly three-month period in 2023 from the downtown Mobile post office on St. Joseph Street.
