‘It can happen to anybody’: Woman loses daughter to fentanyl overdose

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Michelle Locklier lost her daughter to a fentanyl overdose in 2024 while she was a college student at the University of Alabama. Her message to people — it can happen to anybody.

Mobile woman faces murder charge in Mardi Gras queen’s death

Locklier’s daughter, Gabrielle, was an accomplished student at Murphy High School, ranking 13 out of 413 students, which earned her a scholarship to the University of Alabama.

“My daughter was a very high achieving, self-motivated student,” Locklier said. “She did very well in school.”
