The Alabama House of Representatives passed a bill banning the use of wireless communication devices, including cell phones, in Alabama public schools.
The ‘Freeing our Classrooms of Unnecessary Screens for Safety’ (FOCUS) Act prohibits students from using wireless communication devices on public school property during instructional days. An instructional day is the “period of time during which a public elementary or secondary school is open and in session for the purpose of meeting the minimum number of instructional days or hours.”
