Former Bayou La Batre police officer out of jail after judge does not revoke bond

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Former Bayou La Batre police officer William “BJ” Squires, who was indicted for rape and sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl, is out of jail.

Squires has been locked up since February following his arrest for criminal trespassing.

The district attorney’s office was trying to revoke his bond on the sex charges because of that arrest, saying it violated his bond conditions…
