Baldwin County hit-and-run suspect enters plea in 2024 incident

ELBERTA, Ala. (WKRG) — A woman has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident in connection with a 2024 hit-and-run in Elberta that injured an 8-year-old girl.

Man arrested for shooting at vehicles in Mobile, police say

Katherine Elizabeth Rolek is accused of hitting the girl while she was waiting for the school bus on March 18, 2024, on Krehling Road and then leaving the scene.

The girl, a third-grader at Elberta Elementary School, was seriously injured and was taken via Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. that Monday.

Rolek was initially arrested and charged with first-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and reckless endangerment.
