PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — A local street will be temporarily closed to traffic starting on May 19, 2025, for a bridge replacement, according to Mobile County officials.

Wasson Avenue is expected to be closed for around six months for the bridge replacement over Gum Tree Branch.
Officials said the main detour will be Whistler Street to West Turner Road to North Avenue to Chieftain Way to Iroquois Street to Thompson Boulevard.
Drivers are asked to use extra caution while traveling in the area.
