MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Murder cases were on the rise last year in Mobile, but overall, violent crime was lower across the board in 2024 compared to 2023, according to the Mobile Police Department’s latest crime report.

There were 38 homicides in Mobile, making it five more cases than in 2023.
Mobile Police Chief William Jackson said that one of those cases was investigated by the traffic unit and not homicide investigators.
