BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — Three kids are facing criminal charges after they were allegedly caught on camera vandalizing the Bay Minette Kids Park earlier last week.

“Earlier last week, our Parks and Rec supervisor checked the park that Monday morning,” Bay Minette’s Police Chief Al Tolbert said. “They discovered graffiti and paintings on the picnic tables, concrete and the posts.”
City crews cleaned it up once, but the vandals came back more than once to deface the city property. Thanks to park security cameras, police said they were able to quickly identify the suspects.
“We installed a camera and that night caught two of the perpetrators in the act of painting the graffiti,” Tolbert said. “This damage happened late at night. These are 13- and 14-year-old kids.”
Tolbert tells WKRG News 5 that this wasn’t just a childish prank. It’s a crime. And the kids behind it are now facing charges for third-degree criminal mischief.
“Some of the graffiti was obscene,” Chief Tolbert said. “One picture was of a gun pointed towards a head. Basically the offender was sending a statement to the city workers: This is your head and this is my gun for you painting over our artwork.”…
