MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile County home buyers could soon qualify for $1,000 to $50,000 in down payment assistance grants, and residents can attend a meeting to learn about the new program.

The Mobile County Grants Department has scheduled two sessions about the Homeownership Down Payment Assistance Program, which the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is reviewing for final approval.
The “public information session” will be held on Wednesday, June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Auditorium of Mobile Government Plaza.
