Baldwin Road 12 Reopens To Traffic

Drivers in Baldwin County can now use a major traffic route that has been closed for months. The intersection of Baldwin County 12 and Alabama 59 in Foley is open again to vehicles. Traffic is flowing smoothly with temporary road striping in place. The Alabama Department of Transportation continues work on intersection improvements.

The intersection closure began in February 2025 as part of a state highway enhancement project. Construction crews are working to widen the highway and add new turn lanes at the busy crossing.

Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich confirmed that while construction continues, the road is now safe for travel. “They still need to install mast arms and complete other work, but the road is functioning,” he said…
