BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (WKRG) – People in south Mobile County are celebrating Alabama’s seafood capital. Bayou La Batre is marking 70 years since the city incorporated.
A tugboat makes its way through the heart of Bayou La Batre, a reminder that the work in south Mobile County is never done and steeped in generations of tradition.
“My dad and uncle had a shrimp company and this is a hardworking, seafood, shipbuilding town,” said councilman George Ramires. People here say Bayou La Batre is unlike anywhere else in the state of Alabama, and being a city helps keep them that way…
