Suspect in deadly Bay Minette shooting denies involvement: ‘Nope’

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WKRG) — A man wanted in connection with the May 23 shooting at a house party in Bay Minette has been arrested.

According to a Bay Minette Police Department news release, Decareus Keywon Mallory Andrews, 28, of Bay Minette, was arrested today in connection with the shooting death of 21-year-old Dyrontae Condarrly Booker of Atmore.

On May 23, a Bay Minette Police officer was on patrol in the 900 block of Daphne Road when they heard gunshots and saw someone running from a home where a large party was being held, the release said.

The officer chased the suspect, but lost him after several blocks. When the officer returned to the scene of the shooting, they found Booker lying in the yard with several gunshot wounds, the release said.

Booker was taken to North Baldwin Infirmary, but died from his injuries, according to the release.

Through the investigation, officers identified Andrews as the suspect, and a warrant was issued, the release said…
