Councilman Carroll breaks ground on first home under new City of Mobile housing plan

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Councilman William Carroll will join community leaders and representatives from the City of Mobile’s Neighborhood Development Department for a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. This event will celebrate the construction of the first home in the Campground neighborhood under the City’s newly launched, City-funded Housing Improvement Plan, a transformational initiative designed to deliver 35 new homes to deserving families.

The Housing Improvement Plan was created through strong collaboration between Councilman Carroll, the Mayor’s Office, and the Neighborhood Development Department to address the urgent need for quality, attainable, and affordable housing in the City of Mobile. Unlike other housing efforts, this program is fully funded by the City, reflecting a direct investment in Mobile’s residents and neighborhoods.
