‘Everything must go’: Alabama hemp ban hits local shops hard

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A major change is coming to hemp sales in Alabama, a new law goes into effect Tuesday banning all smokable hemp products, high-potency gummies, and synthetically produced forms of THC.

This law is forcing some local businesses in Baldwin County to clear their shelves and others like Cyclops Smoke Shop in Belforest to close their doors for good.

“It’s basically all been taken away,” Jamie Shows at Cyclops Smoke Shop said. “I’m really saddened not only for the business, but mainly for our clients, especially for our clients.”

Starting July 1, Alabama will ban all smokable hemp. Flower, pre-rolls and vapes containing THC from hemp, all these products will be illegal to sell or even own…
