BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A nice house on the Eastern Shore, one of the last places Dwayne and Erica Dailey lived, but when it came time to pay rent, investigators said they always had excuses why they couldn’t pay.

“Family emergencies, tragedies, things like that and they would string it along for a few months, never pay rent, and then, they knew it takes a few months to get someone evicted, and our deputies would show up to evict them and they would show up somewhere else,” said Capt. Danny Steelman with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy who handles evictions in the county started noticing he was evicting the same couple over and over and over again, and that began the investigation.
According to Steelman, they were evicted 10 times in the last four years and would cover their tracks by falsifying their credit report.
“They actually reached out to some of the credit reporting bureaus and filed notice that hey, you have us listed as defaulting on rent, this isn’t us, it is mistaken identity, and they actually had those removed where the new landlord would not see that on their history,” said Steelman…
