ROBERTSDALE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Loxley man originally arrested for public intoxication has received more charges after he allegedly assaulted an officer and destroyed jail equipment.
Orange Beach threat dismissed, officials say
According to Robertsdale Police Department officials, 19-year-old Michael Blevins was arrested on July 1 in Loxley and was booked into the Robertsdale Jail for public intoxication.
After being booked, RPD officials said Blevins became belligerent and began destroying jail equipment, including the breathalyzer machine.
An RPD corrections officer and Loxley Police Department officer got into a struggle with Blevins, which is when Blevins allegedly assaulted the Loxley officer, leading to Blevins being tased and arrested.
