Mobile Ala. (WKRG) — The fourth of July means lots of fun in the sun, but if you’re not careful, it could mean a trip to the emergency room.

“Every year we see injuries from fireworks,” said Doctor trey Simms, an Emergency Room doctor with the Spring Hill Medical Center. “Usually, hands and eyes are the main things that happen.”

He told us that an eye injury might just be the strangest holiday induced injury he’s seen.

“I’ve seen perforated globes where something will actually enter the eye and the eye will deflates because of it.”…
