According to a BCPS news release, the CEP program allows children in schools that are located in low-income areas to be served food for free.
“CEP gives food service professionals more time to focus on preparing nutritious meals that their students will enjoy and gives students more time to eat those meals by cutting down on time spent in the lunch line,” read the release.
BCPS officials said the meals served at breakfast and lunch will follow the United States Department of Agriculture guidelines in an effort to provide kids with healthy meals.
