MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department is sending a Type 3 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) in response to the recent flooding in Texas.

According to a recent post from MFD’s Facebook page, the team will consist of 16 members from MFRD, as well as additional support from the City of Saraland and the City of Tuscaloosa. Approximately a dozen civilians will provide medical and K-9 handling support.
The team is responding as part of Alabama’s Task Force One through the Alabama Mutual Aid System and will leave for Austin, Texas, early on July 8.
