MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Semmes woman was killed on July 4 after she was hit by a car while walking along Lott Road in Mobile County.

According to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency news release, 62-year-old Devi V. Weems died of injuries received when she was hit by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 60-year-old William G. Wilson of Citronelle.
The incident happened at about 11 p.m. Friday on Alabama 217 near the 14-mile marker, about 5 miles north of Semmes in Mobile County, according to the release.
Wilson left the scene of the crash but was later found with the help of the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, the release said.
