Creola traffic stop leads to drug arrest

CREOLA, Ala. (WKRG) — A traffic stop made by Creola Police Department officers led to the arrest of the driver on drug charges.

According to a CPD Facebook post, officers pulled over a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Dead Lake Road near Sailor Road just before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15.

Officers said the driver did pull over, which is when they found that the driver had active warrants out of Wetumpka for failing to appear on charges of attempting to elude and reckless driving.

CPD officials said that they brought in one of their K9s who detected drugs in the Jeep.

Officers found 22.83 grams of methamphetamine and $2,257 in cash, according to the Facebook post.
