MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An admitted drug courier showed up for a cocaine deal last year in a van used by a day care and then drove the drugs back to the home-based day care, according to federal court records.
That detail is included in the plea agreement of Jonathan Maurice Hackworth, who admitted on Thursday that he supplied the drugs from Houston. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
Hackworth faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, but prosecutors agreed to recommend leniency. His lawyer, James Byrd, said he expects advisory sentencing guidelines to be in the 10-year range…
