MCSO: Repeat offender arrested in drug operation in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Vice Units operation last week resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Mobile man with a extensive criminal history, the sheriff’s office announced today.

Dubbed “Up in Smoke,” the field operation took place Thursday afternoon in the area of Navco Road and McVay Avenue.

According to the MCSO, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a BMW and observed the passenger trying to hide something. Deputies also smelled marijuana as they approached the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities detained the driver and the passenger. A search of the vehicle turned up a stolen semi-automatic gun in the back seat, a book bag containing about 381 grams of marijuana packaged for sale and empty plastic bags, officials said…
