Marshalls in Mobile evacuated after fire

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Marshalls on Airport Boulevard in Mobile closed Wednesday after a fire broke out.

News 5 learned that Marshalls employees had noticed a smell of smoke in the store Wednesday morning.

They immediately evacuated all employees and customers inside the store; everyone reportedly got out safely.

A customer who was in the store at the time said it kind of smelled like burning rubber.

According to people there, the smell appeared to be coming from the ceiling, and the manager of Marshalls said she believes a water pipe leak could have caused a spark that started a fire in the wiring in the ceiling…
