Man arrested after attempting to cash found check: Mobile PD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers arrested a man after he allegedly attempted to cash a check that he found.

According to an MPD news release, officers were called to the Trustmark Bank on Dauphin Street before 1:30 p.m. on July 23.

Officers said they arrived and found that the man, identified as 27-year-old Joshua Jamal Derks, found the check, which was not written to him, and then brought it to the bank.
