Novelis is calling it a “hiring blitz” — three events in three days with a thousand jobs up for grabs.
Darrell Williams was first in line at Coastal Alabama Community College, where the first event is being held and he is looking for something specific: “A steady job, a job that is actually long-term for my family.”
In Bay Minette, almost 300 potential new employees had signed up to show up, before the doors ever opened and that is what the company prefers, applicants to pre-register online, although walk-ins are welcome.
“In this first wave, we are looking for entry-level with not a lot of experience to seasoned professionals. Everything from machine operators to electricians to shift supervisors,” said Novelis Spokesperson Callie Cox…
