Alabama governor announces new Mobile County district judge

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has made a decision on who will be the new Mobile County district judge.

According to a news release from the governor’s office, Ivey has appointed Deborah Tillman as the judge.

Tillman is filling the spot that was vacated by Spiro Cheriogotis, who is a Mobile mayoral candidate.

According to the release, Tillman has 35 years of experience in law, serving in the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office and in the United States Air Force as a staff judge advocate.

Tillman was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1995, after which she worked as an assistant district attorney and chief district attorney…
