MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man who was previously convicted on felony charges has been sentenced on a gun charge stemming from a deadly home invasion, according to the Department of Justice.

23-year-old Okoye Jabrayll Day was sentenced to 60 months in prison after he and a group of men attempted to break into an apartment unit, leading to one of the suspects being shot and killed.
According to the DOJ news release, Mobile Police Department officers were called to the apartment complex on April 16, 2024, for a report of a home invasion in progress.
Officers arrived and found several bullet holes in the walls and ceiling of the apartment unit, as well as the front door off it’s hinges from where the intruders were kicking the door, according to the release.
