Tax on groceries in Alabama to go from 3% to 2%

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Get ready to pay a little less for a cart full of groceries.

Alabama house bill 386 is set to take effect a month from today after Gov. Kay Ivey signed off on it earlier this summer.

It lowers the state sales tax on groceries from 3% to 2%…
