MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers arrested a man after he allegedly led them on a chase, crashed and then was the victim of a carjacking.

According to an MPD news release, officers tried to pull over a driver around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, but the driver refused to stop.
The driver of the vehicle, now identified as 21-year-old Jakameron Lamorri Stanley of Mobile, eventually crashed in the area of Bay Bridge Road but fled from the scene, according to officers.
The release said later Monday night they received a report of a carjacking that matched the vehicle involved in the chase and wreck.
Officers arrived on the scene and found Stanley was the victim of the carjacking.

Stanley was arrested. He is charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, leaving the scene of an accident, false reporting to law enforcement officers, reckless driving and felony attempt to elude…
