MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Four companies responded to an invitation from the city to run The Wave Transit System, but leaders have not yet settled on a long-term course.
City leaders have expressed displeasure over rising costs for the bus system, and Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s administration has floated the idea of a major overhaul. The Mobile City Council voted in June to extend the city’s contract with Transdev for 90 more months to buy some time to make those decisions.
City officials said they soon will discuss the proposals that have been submitted, but they added that those details are not public information until a contract is signed…
