MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile County leaders and swim leaders gathered Friday afternoon for a ceremonial beam-signing, celebrating the halfway point of construction on Phase I of the Mobile County Aquatic Center.

The almost $25 million project broke ground on Sept. 6, 2024, and is scheduled for completion in early summer 2026. Once finished, the complex will feature both indoor and outdoor pools designed to serve competitive swimmers, recreational users, and community programs.
Phase I includes Building A, a 25-yard by 25-meter indoor warm-up and instructional pool, lobby, and restroom and locker room facilities.
