Over 34,000 gallons of wastewater overflow in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Over 34,000 gallons of wastewater overflowed into a Mobile creek, according to the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System.

Crews responded to an overflow Monday at Clear Creek near Moffett Road, where about 34,470 gallons of wastewater had overflowed, according to a MAWSS news release.

The release said the overflow was caused by “actions of a third-party MAWSS contractor,” and was discovered by a MAWSS worker.
