Judge said he will order Mobile medical clinic named in DA’s lawsuit to remain closed

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A now-closed post-injury rehabilitation clinic will remain shut for the foreseeable future.

Mobile County Circuit Judge Michael Windom said Thursday that he will convert a temporary restraining order into a longer-term preliminary injunction. That will keep the doors shut at South Alabama Medical & Rehab, which is at the center of a deceptive trade practices lawsuit brought by the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

Windom pronounced himself “certainly troubled” by the allegations he heard Thursday against the clinic on Old Shell Road and several law firms accused of taking advantage of accident victims…
