MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The fired Mobile Housing Authority CEO is speaking out for the first time since the board booted him out of his position last month. Michael Pierce contends Mobile’s mayor was really pulling the strings and appointed board members to get rid of him. Pierce is appealing the termination and hinting at future legal action.
“They absolutely had no right and the trumped up charges that they had in that termination letter really don’t exist,” said Pierce.
Pierce believes Mobile Housing Authority Commissioners who voted to terminate him last month hadn’t been in their positions long enough to make an informed decision. He says Chairman William Ray had been there three months, Vice Chairman Kenneth Kvalheim had been a commissioner seven days, and Commissioner Mable Maye, a resident, had been in her position seven months when he the board put him on leave…
