MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has issued a response to comments that Sheriff Paul Burch recently made on his personal Facebook page about a local judge.

“We are aware of questions regarding remarks made on Sheriff Burch’s personal Facebook page about recent rulings by a judge in criminal cases,” a statement from the MCSO said. “The comments reflect his personal views and were not issued by this office.”
Burch did not give the judge’s name, but said a “Mobile County Circuit Judge has made some of the worst rulings from the bench for criminal cases,” and “the recent rulings are despicable from a criminal justice perspective.”
He addressed the statement to “law-abiding citizens and supporters of animal rights,” but did not reveal specific cases. He said he would “soon be posting an open letter with details and the name of the judge.”…
